| Keep it Simple
-
If an application is too
difficult, try something easier. Games are one way to get
recalcitrant seniors hooked.
Help from Afar
-
Try to have the same software
as your parent so you can go through the process together.
Take Notes
-
Writing down procedures can
help your parent remember. You should also leave detailed
instructions in writing.
Make it easy
-
Choose a large monitor, a large
tracking ball and a mouse that isn't overly sensitive. Customize
software to increase font and icon size, if necessary.
Be Patient
-
Everybody has trouble at
the start. After a while, your computer-phobe parent may be
showing you new websites. |
